Actuate's BIRT Experts to Conduct Three Sessions on Open Source Technology at OSEHRA on Sept. 4-6 in Bethesda, Maryland

lead three presentations on open source technology at the Second
Annual OSEHRA Open Source EHR Summit and Workshop. This conference,
taking place in Bethesda, Maryland on September 4-6, 2013, will explore
innovative and pioneering models and best practices in technical,
clinical, and business development within the healthcare field.
New to the event this year is an added day of open source and agile
software development tutorials directed by leading experts. Similar to
last year, the event will also feature sessions and panels with industry
experts both chairing and participating, as well as breakout discussions
based on submitted papers from the U.S. and abroad. Additionally, there
will be discussions detailing updates of business models and effective
approaches to community development and management.
Utpal Bhatt, VP of Marketing for Actuate (News - Alert), will conduct a pre-conference
tutorial on Sept. 4, entitled "How to Make Money," where he will address
the top revenue models based on open source. Related topics will include
support, subscription, and licensing models that produce revenue
streams, as well as ways in which building commercial value can also add
potential for profit.
Mr. Bhatt will also facilitate a presentation on Sept. 6 called
"Adopting an Open Source (News - Alert) Model." Virgil Dodson, Director of BIRT

entitled "Reprting and Visualization of Healthcare Data Using Open
