Mellanox's 40GbE as Ethernet Switch selected by BaltInfoCom

Mellanox Technologies Ltd (Nasdaq:MLNX) (TASE:MLNX.TA), a supplier of end-to-end interconnect solutions for data centre servers and storage systems, announced on Tuesday the selection of its SX1036 36-port 40GbE switch system by BaltInfoCom LLC, a provider of server and computer equipment for storage systems and information processing in Russia.
Financial details of this selection were not available.
BaltInfoCom has selected the SX1036 36-port 40GbE switch system as the Ethernet switch of choice to provide customers with 10GbE connectivity to servers and 40/56GbE uplinks for the next level of aggregation switching.
According to the company, the Mellanox SX1036, based on Mellanox's SwitchX-2 switch IC, will provide BaltInfoCom's customers the highest-performing fabric by delivering up to 4.03Tb/s of throughput and 220ns latency, representing a three times bandwidth improvement and a four times latency improvement over BaltInfoCom's previous offerings.
