Changes for Corning Healthcare District board [Corning Observer, Calif.]
(Corning Observer (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Aug. 27--The Corning Healthcare District board of directors said goodbye to long-time member Sherie Abel and welcomed Susan Price as a director during its August meeting.
Abel served on the board for seven years.
"I will miss working with the other directors," Abel said.
Board president Guadalupe Green presented Abel with a certificate of appreciation for her years of service.
During her terms in office Abel, a paraplegic, worked on Americans with Disabilities Act improvements and the Meuser Memorial Health Center project.
Due to Abel's efforts, and those of City Manager John Brewer, the railroad tracks on South Street in Corning were repaired to allow wheelchairs to safely cross the intersection. Director Susan Price is not new to public service. She served six years with the federal government as a U.S. Senate staff member for two Senators, eight years as a Community Development Coordinator for Community Housing Improvement Program, and 20 years in city and county management.
"My extensive experience in finance, budgeting, grant writing, personnel, and management of multi-departmental organizations will be of benefit to the Corning Healthcare District," Price said.
Corning Healthcare District's mission is to bring health related services to the south part of Tehama County. The district has a suite of offices available at 175 Solano St. Corning Healthcare District can be reached at 824-5451.
