Oman kicks off 1st tourism campaign for Arab media outlets [Kuwait News Agency]
(Kuwait News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) | SALALAH, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- The first Arab Media Tourism Campaign has kicked off in Oman Sunday, in conjunction with Dhofar Municipality, to promote the many accepts of tourism enjoyed by the gulf state.
Representative of the Arab Tourism Media Centre Sultan Bin Khamis Al-Yahyai said in a press statement that this campaign takes place on the sidelines of Salalah Tourism Festival. It aims at providing an opportunity for various media outlets to identify with Oman's unique historic, civilizational and tourism landmarks and make them known to the public.
AL-Yahyai added that more than 25 media representatives from a number of Arab countries such as Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates are participating in the campaign.
He thanked the Ministry of Tourism, Dhofar Municipality, Omran Company and Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) for their support in sponsoring this event.
He said the purpose of this campaign is to recognize Oman as a tourist destination for its historical, cultural, and unique landmarks in order to generate more tourists to the country. (end) ahr.ss KUNA 011329 Sep 13NNNN
