(El Paso Times (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 01--Trevor Fetter, the head of Tenet Healthcare Corp., the Dallas-based hospital chain which operates three El Paso hospitals, has been named among the 100 most influential people in health care by Modern Healthcare, an industry trade magazine.
No El Pasoans made the list, released late last week. But James Hinton, CEO of Albuquerque's Presbyterian Healthcare Services, landed at No. 100. Fetter, Tenet chief executive officer, is 18th on the list. Tenet operates the Sierra Providence Health Network in El Paso.
Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Health and Human Services secretary, is first on the list. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer ranks 14th.
The latest, annual list was chosen through reader and magazine staff input and came from a list of nearly 28,000 nominations, the magazine reported. The top 300 nominations were voted on by readers in compiling the final list. More information is available at: modernhealthcare.com
