MarketersMedia.com: JSB Surveillance Installs Security Camera System for St Paul International Airport; St Paul International Airport gets upgraded security camera system.
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Minneapolis, USA - As a part of a $20 million project, the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport security camera project was executed by local professionals, JSB Surveillance in June 2013. The project aimed to replace aging 1995 surveillance cameras around the airport with more high-definition digital cameras. The airport services more than 32 million passengers a year and is the 12th busiest airport in the United States.
These upgrades hope to not only improve security, but also reduce flight delays at the airport. According to Dave Ruch, the commission's director of information systems, "They will make the airport more secure. The ability to have more coverage, by definition, is you have the chance to be safer."
JSB Surveillance installed a standalone eight channel digital video recorder (DVR) and 6 high-resolution outdoor bullet cameras. These cameras can be accessed with a built-in remote on the Web or on any Android, Blackberry or I-Phone smartphone.
The multi-channel DVR has a built-in 4 Terabyte Hard Drive, which gives Servisair and the Minneapolis-St Paul International airport countless months of high-quality recordings. The cameras used are IP67 rated and are completely weatherproof for the treacherous winters of Minnesota. An IP67 rating means that the cameras are protected from dust, water submersion during heavy rainstorms and are also shock resistant.
Delta Airlines fronted a portion of the project's cost because they believed new cameras would improve their flight operations. Ultimately, problems at the gate and on the taxiways could be spotted more easily, which will save them the time of sending out a crew.
While JSB Surveillance's portion is completed, it is only a facet of the overall project that should span from three or four years. Other airports, such as Orlando International Airport, have followed suit announcing their own camera overhaul project as well.
JSB Surveillance makes it their mission to install high-tech cameras and systems to local businesses. Their belief is that every establishment should be protected from theft. For more information on which quality cameras or systems work best for a specific business, visit jsbsurveillance.com.
