Domestic-brand smartphones occupy over 70 percent market shares in China
BEIJING, Sep 04, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
The market shares of domestic-brands
on China's smartphone market have exceeded 70 percent, according to
market researcher GFK.
GFK says that China's domestic mobile phone brands have become the
backbone force on the market, thanks to their improved capabilities
in innovation, channel building and industrial chain control.
Statistics show that the number of domestic bands has been
increasing on the 1,000-yuan section of China's smartphone market,
which was 313 in 2012 and 376 this year. The market researcher says
that the cost control is the key of competition on this market
section, and domestic brands need to further dig into the customers'
demands on smartphone functions.
On the 2,000-yuan section, domestic bands had occupied a total 95
percent market shares by this June. And on the 3,000-yuan section,
domestic brands has been striving to narrow the gap with
international brands, and many of them, including OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi,
Meizu and Huawei, have released high-end flagship products to expand
their market occupations. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu, Lixy@xinhua.org)
