China Telecom formally launches 4G LTE bidding
BEIJING, Sep 04, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 00728.HK) had
formally launched bidding for construction of 4G LTE networks, the
telecom news portal c114.net reported on Wednesday evening.
An industry insider said that China's 3rd largest telecom operator
sent invitation for bid to 10 telecom equipment providers last
Friday, and would collect the bidding documents by September 22.
The 10 telecom equipment providers included ZTE, Huawei,
Alcatel-SBell, Ericsson, Nokia, Datang, FiberHome and Putian.
It is learned that the bidding would concentrate in the
construction of FDD-LTE networks, and the proportion of TD-LTE
network construction would be less than 30 percent. (Edited by Li
