Gov. Tomblin Orders State Flags Lowered at State Capitol Complex and in Fayette County

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today ordered all State flags displayed at the Capitol Complex, and State-owned facilities throughout Fayette County be displayed at half-staff from dawn to dusk on Monday, September 9, 2013, the day of memorial services for former Delegate Thomas Eberly "Tommy" Myles, who passed away August 2, 2013.
Myles was appointed to serve in the West Virginia House of Delegates as a representative of Fayette County on August 22, 1955. He was elected to that position in 1956 and was continuously elected to serve as a representative of Fayette County through 1972.
Myles served as House Majority Leader in the 53rd, 54th, 58th, 60th and 61st Legislatures. During his tenure in the House he also served as a member of the committees on Banking and Insurance, Judiciary, Rules, Joint Committee on Government and Finance, and Joint Rules.
