China's mobile phone users more vulnerable to network attacks: Tencent

Along with the accelerating
development of mobile networks, China's mobile phone users that get
access to Internet via 3G, 4G and wifi are more vulnerable to network
attacks, according to a report newly released by Tencent (00700.HK)'s
mobile safety lab.
The report says that mobile phone viruses, malicious programs and
advertisement programs are widely spreading and will become major
threats to the safety of China's 4G networks.
According to the report, Tencent's mobile safety lab captured
approaching 100,000 mobile phone virus packages this July, and the
top 10 malicious viruses targeting at business promotion had infected
more than 1.35 million mobile phones.
The report adds that in July, most of the top 10 viruses in terms
of the number of mobile phones infected are targeting at consuming
telecom charges and stealing privacies. (Edited by Li Xiaoyu,
