Doro and Tellybean say 'Hello' to a new TV experience
Sep 10, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Doro AB, the global leader in easy-to-use consumer electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with Tellybean - a unified video calling service - exclusively across Europe. The move sees the pioneering Swedish company add a Tellybean patented concept to its growing easy-to-use portfolio of products and services. Mobile operators and service providers will commercially benefit from the new market opportunity presented by upselling additional services and propositions.
Caroline Noublanche, Director of Doro's Consumer Business Unit commented on the development: "Doro is an innovative pioneer and we dare to go where others do not. Yet again we are using technology in a different way to better connect the generations. People of all ages engage with the concept of television, as it is a familiar and trusted platform - think of this development as the 'family phone reinvented'. Through our alliance with Tellybean we are taking communication in the home to another level. This is without doubt a 'crown jewel' for operators - especially with regard to their fixed line and mobile broadband pricing strategies."
TV is arguably the most widely spread media format globally and reaches people of all ages directly in their home environment. This innovative new concept will positively change the way families communicate by making video calling available and easily accessible to everyone.
Phillip Lindberg, Co-Founder at Tellybean added: "We naturally share many common values and synergies with Doro. Our insight, innovation and passion for stripping away complexity complement each other exceptionally well. We have developed an immersive experience that will change the way families and friends talk with one another. It will help to connect both the digital and geographical divides faced by millions of people around the world every day."
The exciting new 'plug-and-play' Doro TV Experience powered by the Tellybean service will enable quick and easy video calling on existing TV sets. The device will use an integrated video camera and embedded software to automatically connect with major video calling platforms such as Skype, or video chat via social network sites like Facebook. The innovative service will be powered by an unobtrusive Android set top device - with both WiFi and mobile network connectivity.
