Munich. Munich Re has qualified again for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices of RobecoSAM and has been included for the first time in the CDP Global 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index.
Besides this, for the first time, Munich Re has been included in CDP's Global 500 Climate Performance Leadership Index (CPLI). This annual index is compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of the non-profit organisation CDP. It highlights those companies listed in the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (Global 500) that demonstrate strategies committed to improving their impact on the environment. Munich Re's actions to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the risks of climate change have been positively recognised. The CDP Global 500 Climate Change Report 2013 tracks how the world's largest listed companies are responding to a changing climate.
Munich Re's inclusion in many other sustainability indices such as the FTSE4Good (since 2001) or the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index show that the corporate responsibility strategy Munich Re pursues is successful and authentic. Astrid Zwick, Head of Corporate Responsibility: 'Munich Re's excellent results in both current assessments are recognition of our consistent Group-wide actions in living our responsible business approach.'
