(Daily Tribune (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ? ? A SRY and the University of Bahrain have recently joined hands in a national vocation training scheme in which ASRY hosted a twomonth training course for a group of students in a variety of departments. As a part of its corporate social responsibility, ASRY has placed the summer programme trainees in a variety of departments and workshops throughout the shipyard according to their academic majors which gave them the opportunity to understand the labour market requirements and raised their awareness about the importance of training. In addition, the training programme gave them an insight into the real work environment and the challenges and needs of the maritime industrial sector. "ASRY is keen to collaborate with national educational institutions throughout its corporate social responsibility initiatives which aim to train and to qualify Bahrainis to work in this vital sector, "ASRY Chief Executive Chris Potter said. He added, "ASRY opened its doors this summer to maximise the training courses merits, allowing full access to major departments and resources. The students were trained by the departments' officials to perform the duties of their designated jobs as full-time employees. Finally, they received job appraisal reports based on their performance and statements that describe their job responsibilities and the challenges they faced during their training programme. " ? ?
