Comtech EF Data's equipment orders from O3b Networks accepted

Comtech EF Data Corporation announced on Friday the acceptance of SatCom infrastructure equipment orders from O3b Networks (O3b), a global satellite service provider, to support multiple O3bTrunk and O3bCell customer installations throughout the African and Asia-Pacific regions.
Financial details of these orders were not available.
This combination of O3b's MEO constellation and Comtech EF Data's advanced modulation and optimisation technologies is expected to facilitate high-speed trunking, satellite mobile backhaul and premium enterprise services.
Under these orders, Comtech will supply its CDM-760 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem, the FX Series WAN Optimisation and the NetVue Integrated Management System to support O3bTrunk applications.
Also ordered to support O3b customer installations is the Advanced VSAT Solutions, which will provide managed high-performance satellite communication solutions for satellite mobile backhaul and premium enterprise services.
According to the company, the portfolio of products ordered incorporates advanced technologies and multilevel optimisation that improve operational efficiency, minimise leased bandwidth, reduce remote power consumption and provide the highest spectral efficiency in its class.
