Branches of Game stores - including the one in the city's St Enoch Centre - opened at midnight to allow fans to buy the hotly- anticipated new game from Scottish developers Rockstar North.
Around 25 million copies of GTAV are expected to sell in its first year, generating pound(s)1billion in revenue for the Edinburgh- based firm.
It is expected to break all records to become the fastest- selling game in history.
