Driven to serve the public
Sep 19, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --
The New South Wales Bar Association rejected a proposal of incorporation for barristers. The proposed single shareholder model had no apparent public benefit. The debate was focused on reducing tax and avoiding damages from negligence. Barristers are independent and have a role in the administration of justice, rather than competing in a commercial market. The association will monitor changes in the English legal market, as well as seek ways to help barristers compete.
