BRIEF: Adult entertainment accountant charged in tax fraud [Sun Sentinel]
(South Florida Sun Sentinel (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 21--A former Parkland accountant appeared before a federal judge in West Palm Beach on Friday for allegedly conspiring with adult entertainment businesses to defraud the IRS and file false tax returns, according to U.S. Attorney Wifredo A. Ferrer.
Paul Anthony Ruggieri, of Strategic Accounting Alliance, prepared tax returns for Anthony Andreozzi and the two adult entertainment businesses Andreozzi owned: F & A Concepts, Inc., and Galaxy Communications, Inc., court records showed.
Ruggieri and Andreozzi conspired to avoid full payment of federal income taxes and they pocketed the difference. Andreozzi diverted corporate receipts of F & A and Galaxy for his own personal use and told Ruggieri to falsify corporate bookkeeping by classifying Andreozzi 's personal spending as business expenses, according to the indictment
Andreozzi also underreported his personal income from 2006 to 2009 to reduce his tax bill. He was charged Sept. 9 with conspiring to defraud the federal government.
If convicted, Ruggieri faces up to five years in prison for the conspiracy charge and three years for each count of filing false tax returns, prosecutors said.
