EMGAS hosts students from University of Wollongong - Chinese Campus on educational site visit [Mid-East.Info]
(Mid-East.Info Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dubai, UAE: Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), hosted 20 students from the University of Wollongong – Chinese Campus, who were in Dubai as part of an educational site visit.
Key managers of EMGAS provided an overview to the students on the products and services of EMGAS, the basic composition and sources of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), its physical and chemical properties, various applications, EGAP & Cutting Edge Gas that are significant for environment protection, precaution against LPG leaks, and the consequences of fire and explosion in LPG plants.
The students toured the EMGAS Jebel Ali plant for first-hand knowledge about the subjects covered in the presentation and to understand the operations of EMGAS.
Hesham Ali Mustafa, Senior Director – ENOC Gas Marketing & International Business Development and General Manager of Emirates Gas LLC, said: "We regularly host students and researchers from various parts of the world for educational sessions on all aspects related to our industry. At EMGAS, we believe that sharing our knowledge with the student community is important to not only provide academic insights into LPG and its business aspects, but also to strengthen awareness of safe handling of LPG."
EMGAS is at the forefront in promoting LPG safety and awareness programmes as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility. Recently, EMGAS held a 'Safe Cylinder, Safe House' campaign to promote the safe handling of LPG cylinders, where over 5,000 households were visited in Dubai and more than 200,000 LPG Cylinder Safety leaflets distributed through the retail outlets of ENOC and EPPCO. Over 2,000 beneficiaries were educated on safe LPG cylinder usage at three different locations of Dubai Municipality customer care centres.
EMGAS has conducted similar training programmes for students from several educational institutions including Al Ahlia School, Sumaya Bint Al Khayat Ajman Secondary School, Muzaira School, Institute of Applied Technology, Dubai Women's College, NIVE, Dubai National School, and Al Shoola School, among others.
The largest supplier of LPG in the UAE, EMGAS is also the market leader in supplying a variety of LPG products and propane used in industrial, commercial establishments and residential areas.
