The art of viral video: authenticity's the hook

Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Trucks, appears in an online promotion brandishing and hanging from a hook as a pun on hooks in advertising. He correctly points out the importance of a hook in helping YouTube videos go viral. Agency Forsman & Bodenfors has made some successful online ads for Volvo. A video for Tui beer has also gone viral, although Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand is overly careful about proving the authenticity of the stunt depicted in the ad.
