Barossa wine row in court over $900-a-bottle vintage
Sep 29, 2013 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) --
Founder Dave Powell criticised the 2009 vintage of a prestigious shiraz by Torbreck Vineyards in an email to clients. Powell also said that US entrepreneur Pete Knight, who acquired Torbreck in 2008, forced him out of the winery and prevented his children from receiving their inheritance. Powell's contract at Torbreck was not renewed in August 2013. The email had led to a dispute before the Federal Court of Australia.
