(Global Data Point Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) 37 percent of Italians have never used the internet, compared with the European average of 22 percent, according to Eurostat data presented by Roberto Liscia, president of the Italian Consortium of Electronic Commerce (Netcomm) at the Internet Days conference. Only 11 percent of people in Italy have made online purchases. Liscia said that Italy is suffering from a digital divide that is slowing down the spread of e-commerce.
