Qatargas continues support for young golfers [Gulf Times (Qatar)]
(Gulf Times (Qatar) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) For the fourth consecutive season, Qatargas is supporting the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) by sponsoring the QGA Junior Golf Programme.
Qatargas said its support to the programme was aimed at popularising golf in Qatar, especially amongst the younger generation, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The company recently announced its support for a number of evolving sports activities in Qatar that include chess and ice-hockey in a bid to nurture young talents and contribute to popularising these games in the local community.
Qatargas public relations manager Mansour Rashid al-Naimi said: "We are very pleased to continue our support to the Qatar Golf Association's Junior Golf Programme. We believe that our support will help to make the game of golf even more popular amongst the younger generation in Qatar. "Promoting and supporting various sporting activities is an important element of our corporate social responsibility programme, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030." Qatar Golf Association general secretary Fahad Nasser al-Naimi added:"We thank Qatargas for its ongoing support to Qatar Golf Association. This is the fourth season in a row that Qatargas has sponsored the Junior Golf Programme. The objective of the programme is to improve the standard of golf among the juniors with various teaching initiatives and weekly competitions throughout each golf season." The Golf Association, in co-operation with Doha Golf Club, organises weekly golf competitions throughout the year, except during the summer period. Junior Qatari players of the Golf Association as well as Doha Golf Club participate in these events.
