(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Japan's Hitachi Kokusai Electric will establish a factory in Istanbul's Tuzla district to produce broadcast equipment and broadcast systems.
The factory will cost USD 10mn, daily Sabah reported.
In June, Hitachi Kokusai established a local subsidiary, namely Electric Turkey Elektronik Urunleri Sanayi, with a capital of TRY 17mn (EUR 6mn).
The company's purpose in establishing Hitachi Kokusai Turkey is to expand its broadcast equipment and broadcast system business into the Middle East, Hitachi Kokusai said in a statement in June.
In the future, Hitachi Kokusai plans to move ahead in expanding the local production for local consumption based business style into Turkey's free trade zones. Turkey has plans to change to a digital broadcasting system and expansion is expected in the markets related to the new system, Hitachi Kokusai explained.
Hitachi Kokusai will use its company in Turkey and further expand its video and wireless network business to the global market, with a view to expanding its broadcast equipment business into the EMEA market by using broadcast equipment system integration services, the statement added.
