Building permits in Kizad made easier [National, The (United Arab Emirates)]
(National, The (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Abu Dhabi's Executive Council yesterday approved new measures to streamline procedures for obtaining building permits in Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad), aimed at lowering costs and helping to fast-track companies setting up in the hub.
"The committee reviewed … new mechanisms to facilitate the procedures for industrial investors in Kizad for the collection of building permits, which aims to reduce the duration of the collection of building permit and simplify procedures associated with them, and reduce the number of certificates [required for the process]," the Executive Committee of the Executive Council said yesterday.
"The new measures will lead to, and contribute to the success of industrial and logistics projects in the emirate."
Separately, Kizad said yesterday it had signed a Dh18 million 50-year musataha agreement with Emirates Calcium Carbonate Factory. ECCF will be allocated a 215,200-square-foot plot of land in the mixed-use cluster of Kizad Area A, where ECCF will use the land to set up a new plant to manufacture and distribute calcium carbonate products to oilfield industries across the UAE and the region.
This week Senaat, the industrial conglomerate, and Ducab, the power cable maker, said they planned to open a Dh220 million aluminium rod mill in Kizad.
