NDRC to grant financial supports to mobile Internet, 4G projects in 8 fields
BEIJING, Oct 08, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
China's National Development and Reform
Commission (NDRC) on Tuesday issued a circular on organizing the
implementation of special projects for industrialization of mobile
Internet and China's homegrown 4G standard TD-LTE.
In the document, NDRC nominated eight fields as the priorities of
industrialization development in the next phase and planned to
provide financial supports to the enterprises that apply for
undertaking the special projects in these fields.
The eight fields include mobile smart terminal application system,
wearable equipment for mobile Internet, public service platform for
mobile Internet and smart terminals, R&D and industrialization
environment for mobile smart terminals, high-speed broadband wireless
access equipment, mobile Internet big data technologies and
industrial creative applications based on TD-LTE.
Securities traders say the circular indicates the development
direction of the entire 4G industry and would help build an
industrial development model that consists of terminal manufacturing,
application services and platform environment building. It is
expected that both upstream and downstream sectors of the industrial
chain would be tapped, boosting the development of other IT
industrial sectors, such as mobile Internet and Internet of Things.
They predict that the composite growth of China's 4G related
industries in 2012-2017 would reach 83 percent. (Edited by Li
