(Estates Gazette (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Bill Hughes, managing director of Legal & General Property, has been appointed to the UK Green Building Council’s board of trustees.
Hughes will join UK-GBC’s eight-strong board of trustees, a group of leading industry figures who are responsible for overseeing the affairs of the charity.
Hughes said: “I am delighted to take up the position of trustee to the UK Green Building Council, which I believe plays a very important role in raising awareness of the sustainability issues arising from the built environment and the real changes that can be made. It is only through engaging with the sector as a whole and government, that progress can be achieved.
“This is not only about collaborating with policymakers on behalf of the industry to ensure that legislation meets its intended goals, but also about working with the whole supply chain and the end occupiers to share information, develop plans and implement new approaches to the way in which we construct and operate our buildings.”
