Balloting of residential plots of Sector D-12 and E-12 - Press Note issued by Capital Development Authority [Pakistan Press International]

Balloting for the allotment of plots to the applicants in Sector D-12 and E-12 was held here today at Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters.
CDA had offered plots through balloting in sectors D-12 and E-12 and 07 October, 2013 was date fixed for balloting. The plots were in size 60x90, 50x90 and 40x80 in Sector E-12, while plots size in D-12 was 50x90 and 40x80. Total 37 applications were received in different categories in both Sector i.e D-12 and E-12.
To ensure transparency, CDA has requested Pakistan Computer Bureau (PCB) to develop software for the said balloting and it was verified/ examined by the experts of FAST - one of the leading IT university of Pakistan.
The Rector FAST University Dr. Ameer Muhammad who present on the occasion, said that software was originally developed by PCB and then it was presented to us which was discussed and examined by the software experts at FAST University. After discussions and deliberations few changes were made to ensure transparency and make it flawless. He reiterated that there is no chance of wrong doing in this software.
The balloting was initiated by pressing a button by the Rector FAST University, Dr. Ameer Muhammad after getting seed value from the audience.
The result of the balloting and map of the sectors was signed by the Rector FAST University , DG Pakistan Computer Bureau and Member Estate, CDA .Category wise details of the applications is as under:-

At this occasion Member Estate CDA while dispelling the impression that prices of the plots were fixed higher than the market prices, said that prices were fixed on the basis of last 10 plots auctioned in Sector D-12 and Average of all these ten (10) was taken as be price for offered plots.
She further elaborated that highest bid received for plot auctioned in March 2013 was Rs.73,000/- per square yard, however price for balloting was Rs.62,700/- per square yard which was the average prices of the last ten (10) plots auctioned in an open auction during 2013.
In the end member Estate CDA, Shaista Sohail profoundly thanked Rector FAST University, Dr. Ameer Muhammad and DG Pakistan Computer Bureau, Mr. Qaiser Sohail for extending help and co-operation in making this ballot a successful, transparent, and flawless.
