Macy's Put off China Online Expansion Plan
(Sinocast Consumer Products Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BEIJING, October 10, SinoCast -- Macy's has put off its online expansion plan in China, after Neiman Marcus slowed its push into the country, people familiar with the matter said yesterday.
The US-based company said that it needs to further understand the Chinese consumers, stressing that it is not worried about a slowdown in China's economic growth and the local consumption power. Macy's bought into VIPStore and said that it would start online sales of its own products in China next spring.
