Palmdale, CA, Oct 13, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
Intuit, creators of QuickBooks has decided to do something creative with their Super Bowl commercial this year. The software juggernaut decided to share their commercial time with a small business. The contest is called "Small business Big-game". Businesses from around the United States are invited to be a part of the contest by telling their story and supplying a video submission. Abadak a company located in Palmdale, California submitted its story. It appears that public voters and some people at Intuit liked Abadak story because the small company made it to the 2nd round. Abadak is an acronym which stands for a better atmosphere dedicating all kind.
In the spring of 2000 Abadak's CEO and founder Michael Stein was broke, struggling to find work and nearly homeless. So he decided to sell products online because that was the easiest way to start a business with little to no funds. The product features to sell were tarps; a simple item that people could use. Since then Abadak has become the leading online retailer of tarps, canopies and various other types of outdoor specialty gear.
The Intuit contest has 4 rounds. The 3rd round breaks down potential winners to 20 and then eventually 4 final contestants. The winner will be granted a commercial fully produced and aired during the 3rd quarter of the 2014 Super Bowl which airs Sunday, February 2.
Stein said, "The whole concept is thrilling to me. A commercial during the Super Bowl can change your entire company's landscape forever."
Abadak along with selling its outdoor gear is also involved with philanthropic work. The company donates thousands of tarps to homeless shelters every year as well, as an educational kids program at schools. Stein says, if you were lucky enough to win the Intuit contest, he would like to expand his philanthropic programs throughout America, and eventually globally.
