China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK) has publicized the bid results of
its integrated procurement for converged equipment of 4G engineering
backbone network, the telecom news portal cctime.com reported on
The integrated procurement includes the purchase of MME/SGSN, SAE
and GW/GGSN equipment and HSS/HLR equipment.
The telecom equipment manufacturers winning the bid for the first
category of equipment were Alcatel Shanghai Bell (Alcatel-SBell), ZTE
(0763.HK; 000063.SZ), Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens and New
Postcom. Those winning the bid for the second category were Ericsson,
Alcatel-SBell, Huawei and ZTE.
China Mobile launched the integrated procurement this July. The
capacity of HSS/HLR equipment involved was 509.1 million users, the
capacity of SGSN and MME/SGSN equipment was 118.11 million users, and
the capacity of GGSN and SAEGW/GGSN equipment was 63.03 million PDP.
