PlateSmart Announces Launch of the Latest Version of Its Popular Mobile License Plate Recognition Product
OLDSMAR, Fla. --(Business Wire)--
PlateSmart, a leading innovator in License Plate Recognition
(LPR)-based video analytic technologies, today announced the release of
the latest version of its Mobile LPR software, which incorporates a
number of cutting-edge enhancements to a game-changing product already
popular among law enforcement and security agencies. This latest
software release is among the products PlateSmart will be
showcasing at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
conference in Philadelphia later this month.
In addition to its industry-leading LPR and state jurisdiction accuracy,
covert configuration, and affordable price point, the latest version of PlateSmart
Mobile LPR software adds many notable new features, the most important
of which is a user-definable data retention policy. This feature, which
allows users to determine how long LPR data is stored in the system, is
a direct response to privacy concerns raised earlier this year by the
ACLU. While thorough dataaccess safeguards have always been included in PlateSmart's
software, the company has decided to make this feature available as a
demonstration of its commitment to preserving civil rights while
fighting crime and saving lives.
Other new features making their debut in PlateSmart's mobile LPR
product include enhanced capabilities for information sharing among
officers, a new, comprehensive license plate search capability, unified
support interface for camera configuration via ONVIF, and improved
support for large-scale agencies with independently managed hotlists and
assigned resources for special task forces/units.
PlateSmart founder and CEO John Chigos said, "We are very much
looking forward to the IACP conference. PlateSmart continues to
grow by leaps and bounds, and we can't wait to show the law enforcement
community all of the newest, best, and most secure tools to fight crime
and save lives."
The IACP conference will be held from October 19th through
October 23rd at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in
Philadelphia. PlateSmart will be exhibiting in Booth #3156.
