China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 00728.HK) unveils bid results for EPC
BEIJING, Oct 15, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 00728.HK)
has determined the bid results of integrated procurement for evolved
packet core (EPC), major equipment of 4G LTE backbone network.
Domestic telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei and ZTE jointly
take more than 80 percent share in the procurement, the telecom news
portal c114.net reported on Wednesday. And ZTE will build 4G networks
for China Telecom in 15 provinces according to the bid result.
The company's integrated procurement for EPC covers 31 provinces
and municipalities throughout China, and is expected to fix the
future market pattern because China Telecom plans to allocate only
one hardcore network main equipment provider to each province.
The bid winners also include New Postcom and Ericsson. (Edited
