Rio chief hails 'mandate' to kill carbon tax

Rio Tinto executive Harry Kenyon-Slaney believes that the resources industry has to help the new Australian Government improve the nation's productivity. He said that the Government was elected with a mandate to abolish the carbon tax. Kenyon-Slaney said that the resources sector had to change the way it does business to stay competitive in the long term. He said that the sector has to communicate with the Government about the difficulties that it faces and what needs to be done to encourage investment.
