End nears for online city auction [The Herald Banner, Greenville, Texas]
(Greenville Herald-Banner (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 26--GREENVILLE -- There are only a few more days left to bid on the almost two dozen items included under the City of Greenville's online auction.
The city is taking bids starting next week on an assortment of vehicles, used computer equipment, bamboo flooring, a dryer and electronics -- all of which are listed in unknown condition.
The city has 23 items up for bid in the auction, which is scheduled to conclude Tuesday at www.auctioneerexpress.com.
Among the merchandise being sold are 11 boxes of bamboo flooring; a pallet of flat panel computer monitors,; an assortment of CPUs, printers, back-up units and other items; a pallet containing subwoofer speakers, portable game systems, cameras and more; an air compressor unit; an in the wall mountable stove and a clothes dryer.
Vehicles and equipment up for the highest bid include an excavator, a backhoe, a Chevrolet 2500 truck and a 1996 Honda Accord.
As of Friday afternoon, the backhoe had drawn a bid of $7,550, the Accord was going for $850 and one of the boxes of assorted computer equipment had received an offer of $40.
The items are available for inspection by appointment only inside the City of Greenville Maintenance Shop at 701 Clark Street. An appointment can be arranged by calling Chris McAllister at 903-457-3174.
