Cricketer banned for posting porn picture on internet [Derby Evening Telegraph (England)]
(Derby Evening Telegraph (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A CRICKETER at the centre of a storm over a pornographic picture posted on Twitter has been banned from playing for four years, it is understood.
Gareth Young revealed via Twitter that he had been banned for four years in total, with two of those suspended, following a Derbyshire Premier Cricket League disciplinary committee hearing.
The punishment was doled out after Mr Young posted a message via Twitter that appeared to poke fun at new Derbyshire Premier League champions Swarkestone, through the use of an explicit image. Mr Young posted on Twitter: Boom. Four-year ban, suspended two-year.
Later he tweeted: Look what I did was stupid and am sorry if I upset anyone but seriously does it warrant 4 years? Thanks for the support guys.
It is understood seven people in total are facing disciplinary proceedings following an investigation into the origin of the message.
These proceedings are set to be concluded in the next week, with other hearings scheduled to take place.
