Turkish mobile operator Turkcell's Q3 net income up 22% y/y, beats expectations. [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]
(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Turkey's largest mobile operator Turkcell posted a consolidated net income of TRY 699mn (EUR 255mn) in Q3, representing a 22% y/y increase. The market consensus forecast was TRY 633mn.
The mobile operator's consolidated revenues rose by 8.3% y/y to TRY 3bn in the third quarter from TRY 2.8bn a year earlier.
Turkcell's consolidated net income also increased by 12.4% y/y to TRY 1.8bn in January-September while consolidated turnover increased by 11% y/y to TRY 8.5bn.
Revenues of Turkcell subsidiaries grew by 36% to TRY 616mn in the third quarter.
In H1, Turkcell's net income has also increased from TRY 1.04bn in H1/12 to TRY 1.12bn. Revenues increased to TRY 5.54bn in the first half of the year from TRY 2.85bn a year earlier.
