Nahyan opens Arabcabs' 9th convention in Abu Dhabi [Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates)]
(Emirates News Agency (WAM) (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ABU DHABI, 27th October 2013 /WAM/ -- Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, U.A.E. Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development on Sunday opened the 9th convention of the Arab Cable Manufacturing Association /Arabcab/ at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Abu Dhabi under the theme of "Public housing in the Arab world".
In his opening remarks, Sheikh Nahyan re-affirmed that the U.A.E. has plans in place to face the increasing demand for electricity and other energy resources and continuously expands its grids upgrades the relevant technologies.
"The U.A.E. looks forward to prepare and implement complete plans for the Arab region's electricity sector and to create a favourable climate for investments into the infrastructure," Sheikh Nahyan said.
The two-day convention, jointly organised by Bahrain-based Arabcab, and Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, brought together top wire and cable industry leaders and experts from the Arab world to intervene and discuss the advanced trends of public housing in the Arab countries, and the ways to enhance cooperation between the leading cable manufacturers in the Arab countries to provide their best products that ensure the sustainable development of civic infrastructure
"Arabcab conference provides Borouge with a significant opportunity to meet the leaders of the industry and enhance our business relations with the leading cable manufacturers in the Arab world," said Hazeem Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice president Middle East, Africa and Exports /MEAE/.
"The event offers a proactive platform for Borouge to underline its strong commitment to the wire and cable industry by continuing to produce new innovative, advanced and sustainable solutions that ensure high quality products for our customers," added Al Suwaidi.
Arabcab, established in 2004, is an association of companies engaged in the manufacturing and trading of electrical and telephone cables, machinery, heavy equipment and relative products across the Arab region.
