Seat and panel maker creates jobs [Northern Echo (England)]
(Northern Echo (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A COMPANY making seats and door panels for the NorthEast's biggest car manufacturer has revealed plans to create about 60 jobs.
Faurecia said it is expanding its plant in Washington, Wearside. The firm makes seats, cockpits, door panels, acoustics and soft trims for Sunderland-based Nissan.
Earlier this month, the Japanese car maker revealed its North- East factory was on target to set new production levels and recruit hundreds of workers. It is also expanding its record-breaking plant, which will enable it to make the Infiniti Q30 hatchback from 2015.
Infiniti will become the first new car brand to be manufactured in the UK on this scale for 23 years, and themove will create 280 jobs and about 750 supply chain posts.
Last month, Nissan created 400 jobs when it started [pounds]125m work on the Note hatchback.
