Gujranwala: Violent protest against minor girl abuse
(Daily Messenger (Pakistan) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The city witnessed violent protest demonstrations over the increased frequency of incidents of sexual harassments and assaults on especially underage girls.
The recent incident took place in the city area of Garjakh where a seven-year girl was allegedly subjected to attack and later was dumped in Rajkot.
The incident incensed the local residents to mount protest. They also went on rampage forcing the closure of shops.
The baton-wielding demonstrators asserted the government does not seem to take any action against the culprits. Police officials, having engaged the protesters in negotiations, dispersed them on assurances of due course of action against those responsible for the crime.
