ECHD to consider $1 million equipment purchase [Odessa American, Texas]
(Odessa American (TX) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 03--The Ector County Hospital District's Board of Directors will consider various upgrades to Medical Center Hospital's software and equipment at its Tuesday meeting.
John O'Hearn, MCH's executive director of planning and development, said one of the items involves a sweeping bill that will cover the basic equipment purchases for the recently renovated 7 Central unit. Though the exact cost wasn't available by press time, O'Hearn said the expenditure of roughly $1 million would cover all the basic equipment needed to make the unit functional, from telemetry monitors to office and room chairs.
According to the meeting agenda, the Board will review several other purchases, including one for several UV lights, an upgrade and purchase of communication devices for floor nurses, and lab system software.
The board also will:
--Hear a presentation on stroke services and a stroke camp appreciation from Karry Morris, a cardiovascular nurse with the Center for Heart Disease.
--Discuss a medical assets contract manager.
--Discuss an employee health plan stop-loss insurance policy.
--Consider approving the acquisition of a physician practice.
