Tractor Supply names Cynthia Jamison chairman
(Associated Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) — Tractor Supply Co., a retailer for farmers and ranchers, said Monday that it Cynthia Jamison will succeed James Wright as chairman of the board as of Jan. 1.
Jamison, 54, has been lead director since 2010 and served on the board since 2002. She worked as the chief financial officer of AquaSpy Inc., an Australian irrigation company, from 2009 to 2012, and was a partner with professional services firm Tatum LLC from 1999 to 2010, where she served as CFO and COO for several companies.
She has served since 2004 on the board of B&G Foods, Inc., where she chairs the audit committee, and has been chairman of the board for Caribe Media Inc., which publishes of the Yellow Pages directories in Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, since December 2011.
Wright joined the company in 2000 was CEO from 2004 until 2012, when he was replaced by Gregory Sandfort. At the time he said he would serve as executive chairman of the board for one year.
Non-employee directors of Tractor Supply received a base annual retainer of $55,000 for the 2012-2013 term, according to a regulatory filing. Committee chairs received additional compensation, along with stock-based incentives. Wright, as executive chairman, did not receive payment as a director.
Tractor Supply operates 1,245 stores in 47 states.
Shares fell a penny to $71 in morning trading. Shares are about 61 percent since the start of the year.
