BRIEF: Advent Software seeks incentives for adding 123 high-paying Jacksonville jobs. [The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville]

(Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville, FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 22--Advent Software is seeking city and state financial incentives as the company considers doubling its Jacksonville workforce by adding 123 jobs, Mayor Alvin Brown announced Thursday.

The company would fill the jobs by the end of 2016 at an average annual salary of $67,000, according to the city.

If approved by the City Council, the company would qualify for up to $738,000 in state tax rebates, or $6,000 for each job actually created. The city would pay 20 percent of that cost, or up to $147,600.

The city also would provide an additional grant from its countywide economic development fund of up to $123,000, equating to $1,000 for each job created.

Advent currently employs 122 people in Jacksonville through its Black Diamond Reporting subsidiary, located at 10151 Deerwood Park Blvd. on the Southside.

Advent is headquartered in San Francisco and has 1,400 employees in 14 cities worldwide developing software for financial service companies.
