Black Friday revenue down [Cape Argus (South Africa)]
(Cape Argus (South Africa) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON: More people took advantage of early holiday sales than last year, but they spent less, and online sales fared better than physical stores.
Close to 141 million people shopped or intended to shop for so-called Black Friday deals, said the National Retail Federation.
The Thanksgiving holiday itself lured 45 million people.
In all, around 92 million people shopped in stores or online Friday, for a 3.5 percent increase from 2012.
