San Francisco: Police detain suspect in PlayStation 4 sale slaying [Contra Costa Times]

(Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dec. 02--SAN FRANCISCO -- A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Daly City man trying to sell a PlayStation 4 on Sunday, authorities said Monday.

Ronnie Collins, of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted robbery for the death of 22-year-old Ikenna Uwakah, Sgt. Danielle Newman said.

Uwakah, a Daly City resident, had earlier arranged online to sell the popular gaming device, but was fatally shot while sitting in a car at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday near Mendell Street and Hudson Avenue in San Francisco's Bayview District. Uwakah was driven to an area near Bayshore Boulevard and Jerrold Avenue, where police officers found him. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he later died, according to police.

Television station KTVU reported that Uwakah and his girlfriend, who accompanied him to sell the device, advertised the device on Instagram for $600, a potential $200 profit. Uwakah's father told KTVU his son returned home for Thanksgiving from the college he attends in Los Angeles, where he studies economics.

The homicide investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department's homicide detail at 415-553-1145, the anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
