Protesters up the ante in Bangkok [Sunday Herald (Scotland)]
(Sunday Herald (Scotland) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Police tightened security in Bangkok yesterday as around 2000 protesters rallied outside a state telecoms group and vowed to occupy Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's office.
At a protest base in Bangkok's historic district, many said they planned to march to various ministries today.
Faced with dwindling support, demonstrators upped the ante by briefly occupying the army HQ on Friday, urging troops to join them in a power struggle centred on the influence of Yingluck's brother, ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
