BRIEF: App search engine co Quixey to open Tel Aviv office [Globes, Tel Aviv, Israel]

(Globes (Tel Aviv) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dec. 03--App search engine company Quixey Inc. is opening an office in Tel Aviv to expand its international presence and secure "deeper talent to focus on refining its search capabilities." Quixey founder and CEO Tomer Kagan, an Israeli native, along with other engineering leaders, are in Tel Aviv this week to begin the vetting and interviewing process.

Quixey plans to assemble a team of key engineering talent that will work in constant coordination with its core team in Mountain View, California. The company plans for the Tel Aviv office to have 15-20 employees by the end of 2014. The Tel Aviv office will serve as a R&D center to improve the company's status as the market leader in app search.

"Israel is home to some of the most dedicated, hard-working engineers in the world," said Kagan. "Their work ethic, combined with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, make for a very enticing talent pool. We're excited to build a new team in Israel that will support and improve our core focus on search, bringing users the functionality they need from their devices." Quixey recently raised $50 million in its third financing round and launched its first product -- Quixey on Android.
