Life Wireless donates to Empty Stocking Fund
COVINGTON, Ga., Dec. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
Life Wireless(TM), a cellular provider offering free phone service to income-eligible customers through the federal Lifeline program, is donating $3,500 to the Empty Stocking Fund this holiday season.
The Empty Stocking Fund is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization that provides children's Christmas gifts to low-income families. Life Wireless has been contributing to the Empty Stocking Fund since 2011.
"We're proud to support the Empty Stocking Fund again this year," said Will Curry, principal of Life Wireless. "We know that the holidays can be a tough time for families. The Empty Stocking Fund helps bring much-needed holiday cheer to underprivileged children and their parents."
Life Wireless is also working with the Empty Stocking Fund to provide Lifeline phone service to eligible low-income families. Life Wireless field representatives, working on site at the Empty Stocking Fund's Atlanta offices, have enrolled thousands of Georgia families in the Lifeline program the past two years.
The Lifeline program was created by Congress in 1985 to help ensure that all Americans have access to quality telephone service and the security and opportunities that it affords. Lifeline service helps people stay in touch with loved ones, make medical appointments, contact potential employers, and call 911 in emergencies.
