Shaikh Nasser to chair BOC board meeting [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)](Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SUPREME Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will today chair the second meeting of the BOC board of directors at its premises in Seef. A number of topics are to be reviewed on the committee's agenda, including the approval of the board's first meeting report and discussing the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Award for Scientific Research in the Field of Sports. Other issues are the BOC's administrative and financial reports for 2013, and reviewing the report of the 78th meeting of the GCC National Olympic Committees presidents held in Bahrain last month. The working committees of the BOC will also be formed during today's meeting, in addition to approving the participating disciplines in regional and continental sports competitions next year. Bahrain will have two crucial challenges coming up, the first of which will be the second Junior Olympics in the city of Nanjing, China in August. Bahrain is also scheduled to compete in the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea the following month. Other events are the second GCC Beach Games in Doha in October, and the fourth Asian Beach Games scheduled to take place in Phuket, Thailand in November.
