SMARTdesks to Show New Products for Collaborative Learning at NSSEA EdSpaces 2013, Dec. 4-6, San Antonio, Exhibit Space 752San Antonio, TX, Dec 04, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- SMARTdesks president Jeffrey Korber will be present at exhibit space 752 at NSSEA's EdSpaces 2013 Conference in San Antonio, Dec 4-6. SMARTdesks latest furniture designs for collaborative learning environments will be showcased. The attending architects, designers, technology integrators and educators will have the opportunity to discuss applying SMARTdesks designs to their specific plans, as was done most recently for Florida Architects, Inc. and Gulf Coast State College Advanced Technology Center. The SMARTdesks business model of designing and building to order has been in practice since the turn of the century. Each project brings with it the opportunity to improve, customize and innovate to realize the vision of each customer. Jeffrey Korber will be available to discuss ideas and approaches with those attending. On exhibit: prototypes of the latest SMARTdesks furniture products for collaborative learning. Applying the concept mosaic tile arrangements to the formation of ad hoc collaboration groups, Quint's five-sided tops have equal facets, allowing them to engage with other tops in multiple ways, both in rows and on-facing in groups of 2, 3, 4. Quint can be assembled in yet larger circles, U shapes, panels and conference arrangements. Quints are on floor glides or locking casters for mobility and flexible arrangement. They are available in heights appropriate for adults and children. Height adjustable options are available using more affordable spring clip adjustment, or more responsive ratchet action. People may sit at the same height, sit or stand at a height appropriate for their physical stature, present to a group, standing, using the Quint as a podium. The iGroup Collaborative Furniture System is based on triangular elements that have a curve on the user's side. Made in mirror image left and rights, iGroup elements assemble to form a myriad of interactive shapes that can be easily changed. Engaging All Learners: Integrating Technology, Space and Pedagogy Attendees of this session will see built-in classroom technology that assists teachers in reaching the different learning types and styles of every student. Different technologies will be presented in that allow for teaching to different learning modalities to generate technologies what work best for a specific group of students, including the integration of technology equipment. The challenges of designing a space for multiple learning styles will be addressed, as well as understanding how to alleviate or eliminate those challenges. Technology's Future in Schools: A Forward look at technology and its Impact on Schools This session will look at school districts that have recently renovated schools and built new school buildings. These schools have planned, designed, and integrated technology into these new buildings. Speakers will discuss what technology was chosen and will assess the students' overall learning success since the renovation and occupying the building. Connecting Classrooms of the Future: Integrating Technology and Collaborative Classroom Design A tale of two classrooms shows how a teacher can not only change their methods to be more relevant, interesting and effective; it provides a base for actual new ways of thinking among students. Participants will see one setting showing BYOD participation while reaching remote participants and another as interactive team-based learning. An overall IP-based notification, announcement, intercom and visual digital messaging system ties a building campus or district together for comprehensive communications with phones and other IP devices. The American Architectural Foundation (AAF) has chosen EdSpaces as one of its inaugural locations to launch the new Design for Learning program, an initiative to develop, advance, and promote innovative modes of teaching and learning through architecture and design. Design for Learning builds on the eight-year legacy of Great Schools by Design, which engaged hundreds of local government officials, superintendents, design professionals, parents, educators, students, and the community in a timely and comprehensive conversation about the environments where our students learn.
