STOCKHOLM --(Business Wire)--

Trialbee expands the shareholder base by closing a round of investment in a new share issue reaching € 2.4 million. The investment is led by Industrifonden and Briban Invest followed by a group of well-known business angels represented by former TAT founder Hampus Jakobsson (News - Alert).

Trialbee has developed a technical platform that enables online patient recruitment for clinical trials. Trialbee facilitates for pharmaceutical companies to recruit the right participants for specific trials fast and reliable, thus shortening time to market for new drugs and treatments.

Trialbee will use the proceeds for international expansion and product development. The company will grow the workforce with clinical researchers, system developers and B2B sales.

"Trialbee's offering has a perfect fit with the market needs as the pharmaceutical industry is switching from traditional recruitment methods to more efficient and accurate e-Recruitment," says Jan Bachan, Briban Invest.

There is a global demand for the company's solution. The pharmaceutical industry currently performs about 10,000 clinical trials in progress of recruiting patients. Trialbee successfully provides e-Recruitment solutions to an increasing number of Big pharma companies.

"Our target is to become the market leader for e-Recruitment solutions in Europe by 2015. We are strongly focused on accelerating the recruitment processes in order to facilitate the development of new and better treatments. In the future we will also broaden our offering by adding an analytical layer to the clinical test data," says Tobias Folkesson, CEO of Trialbee.

"Trialbee is one of Industrifonden's investments in e-Health, a fast growing business area that we focus on," says Hedvig Andersén, Investment Manager with Industrifonden.

Trialbee offers global pharmaceutical companies a web-based service for accurate, efficient patient recruitment for clinical trials. The technical platform has been developed in close cooperation with pharmaceutical companies and CRO companies. Trialbee was founded at Ideon in Lund in 2010 by Tobias Folkesson and Jonas Billing and now has 9 employees. Read more at www.trialbee.com
